Infant Massage
Please note that I am currently not running classes. Please contact me if you are interested in future courses.
“Infant massage is one tool that we have to help reshape our child’s interpretations of the world. To release her pain, grief, and fear and to open her up to love and joy.”
Vimala McClure
Come and help create strong bonds and attachment with your baby through the nurturing and positive touch of Infant Massage, building a relationship that will support long-term health. This course will give you the confidence to give your baby a relaxing, nurturing & meaningful full-body massage. You will learn to read your baby’s cues, discovering what they like and don’t like. I promise that you will enjoy adding it to your daily routine. Especially for tummy time, play and sensory activities. Come and meet other parents and build on or create your Village.
Join the Little Alchemists Infant Massage 5-week course. A course that has its origins in the teachings of Vimala McClure, the Founder of the International Association of Infant Massage.
In the Course:
Gain the skills to confidently nurture and support your Baby, while learning to understand their individual cues, body language and behaviours through the use of gentle touch.
Learn and experience the many wonderful benefits of infant massage for both your Baby and yourself (and in-turn your wider family). Trust me, there are so many!
Not only learn how to give your Baby a full-body massage, but also learn gentle techniques to sooth any discomfort that your Baby may be experiencing and possibly help to ease poor sleep.
What you will receive:
Small intimate, relaxed classes (Maximum of 5 Mums with their Baby), perfect for 1:1 time with your Baby (from birth to pre-crawling), great for individualised attention where needed.
5 weekly sessions running for 60-90 minutes, where you will learn to massage your Baby, one body part at a time. All classes end with a nourishing drink and meal. (It is important for me that all Mums have at least one nourishing meal in what can be some pretty hectic days. So this will be a proper warm meal.)
A care package inside a tote bag that will include an instructional booklet, a laminated cheat-sheet with the infant massage sequence, a bottle of organic massage oil to help you keep going at home & a few other surprises.
A Graduation Certificate at the end of the 5th class.
5 Week Course in Studio - $350
If for whatever reason, you can’t make it or don’t want to attend a group class, I offer 1:1 classes. These are run over the course of two days (2 weeks) and run for 90 minutes. This means that you and your Baby will have my undivided attention in the comfort of your own home. The classes will be tailored to your individual circumstances, following the same content as the group classes.
2 Week Course in-home - $450

Mums are invited to come to these classes for a few reasons ( I speak of mums only because I want women to be able to come into this space and be able to attend to their baby’s needs, such as breastfeeding, as an example, without having to worry about covering up or feeling uncomfortable):
In a group setting with other parents, you will see that you are not alone in your journey with all of the ups and downs that you are experiencing.
Being part of a group builds community, reduces feelings of isolation, reduce baby blues, can reduce symptoms of postpartum depression and it will make a positive contribution to both your emotional and mental well-being.
Being within a group setting can be very comforting and reassuring for some people.

Over the duration of our 5 weeks together, aside from learning various massage strokes and a full body massage routine, other important aspects of infant massage will be discussed. Some of these topics include:
What is the best time to massage your Baby?
What oils are safe to use?
Various positions used for massaging.
What is the best environment to massage my Baby in?
Why is it important to ask my Baby permission before massaging?
Go through the behavioral states, cues and reflexes that Babies have.
What are the benefits of infant massage for your Baby, yourself and the various routines that may assist with colic, teething and improve better sleep.
Throughout the course, there will be many times and opportunities for parents to ask questions and be able to have a chat about all things parenting, babies, well-being and so much more. It will give you the opportunity to learn from other parents and not just from the course content.
